I passed this curious scene and just snapped a picture to show my wife. The bright green of the still unidentified foliage puzzled me as it was late autumn and most of the leaves on the trees had turned brown and already fallen. The freshness of this first snowfall only added to that mystery. Within a day or two the green gave way to all browns.

It was a Sunny day in Salisbury Center, NY, as we rested under a tree in the park next to the last covered bridge in Herkimer County. We almost did not climb as the visibility was poor, but when we made it to the Summit, the sky soon cleared, but not before I captured this scene. On our way up, we also passed a wedding party and its bride, in her long white dress and heels, as they made their way down the rocky path from the summit.
